In the human reproductive process, two kinds of sex cells, or gametes (pronounced: gah-meetz), are involved. The male gamete, or sperm, and the female gamete, the egg or ovum, meet in the female's reproductive system to create a new individual. Both the male and female reproductive systems are essential for reproduction. The female needs a male to fertilize her egg, even though it is she who carries offspring through pregnancy and childbirth.
Introduction to human reproduction:
Human reproduction:- Human beings reproduce sexually and are viviparous. They produce gametes. Two types of gamates are male gametes called spermatozoa and female gamates termed ova. The spermatozoa and ova unite to form zygote. The reproductive system of a sexually reproducing consist of three types.
1. Primary sex organs. Which produce the gametes, namely , testes and ovaries.
2. Secondary sex organs. That includes ducts to convay the gametes to appropriate sites for fertilization and gland to provide useful secretions.
3. Accessory or external sex character which distinguish the two sexes in apprearance.
Ever since life evolved on planet earth the living forms are striving hard to increase their colony resulting in increased offspring and speciation. The phenomenon of propagation takes place in unicellular and multi cellular forms of life. In higher animals like humans the reproduction is vital process and takes place with the presence of diversified organs.
Male and female reproductive systems are highly developed in both sexes and help in the formation of gametes which involve in process of fertilization. In case of men the sex organs are found to be located outside the body near the pelvic region.
External Genital Organs of Reproductive System
The reproductive organs in male are present outside the body and are of the following types:
1. Presence of long shaft and enlarged shaft referred as glans penis.
2. It is referred as copulatory organ in male and on sexual active case the penis erects and ready for sexual process.
3. Blood sinuses in the erectile tissue are filled with blood and the arteries are dilated.

2. Act as area of storage for sperms.
3. It is stimulated by luteinizing hormone and results in formation of testosterone
In reproductive system we have two types of system one is male reproductive system and another one is female reproductive system. Both the systems are very much different from each other and now we are going to study them individually
Male Reproductive System
Male reproductive system comprises a pair of testes suspended in a scrotum; a pair of ducts, each differentiated into an epididymis, a vas deferens, and an ejaculatory duct; male urethra pasing through and erectile penis; three types of glands are there viz. a pair of seminal vesicles , a prostrate gland, and a pair of cowper's glands. The secretions of gland mix with sperms to form semens.

A testes consist of convoluted seminiferous tubules and small groups of interstitial or leydig's cells. Spermatogenesis occurs in the seminiferous tubules. Spermatziod divides mitotically into primary spermatttocytes, which divides by meiosis into secondary spematocytes. The later divide by meiosis -ii into semantics which are transformed into spermatozoa by spermatogenesis. A spermatozoon is a long , flagellated , motile cell.it consist of head comprising nucleu and acrosome, a neck containing 2 centrioles, a middle piece having mitochondria, and a vibratile tail.
Female Reproductive System
Female reproductive system consists of a pair of ovaries: a pair of fallopian tubes, eah differenciated into infundibulum, ampulla isthmus and uterine part: a uterus. Differeciated into fund us, body and cervx: a vagina, vulva comparising vestibule, la biaminora, labia majora and cilitoris and a pair of breats. The proces of formation of a mature female gamate is called oogenesis.
So these were the things which are related to human reproduction and we have females and males in human so we just discussed about male reproduction and female reproduction. Female reproductive system is much more complicated then male reproductive system and the main difference between female reproductive system and male reproductive system is that female can produce young ones and pregnancy occurs in females only.
