Many of us who decided they want to give up marijuana haven't a clue where to start. This article discusses some easy steps you can take to start the journey of quitting marijuana. Take the 1st step and set a quit date, then write it down!

Set a Date to stop smoking Weed.

Your give up date should be an actual date. It should not be when your stash runs out, or roughly a week before the next semester of college starts, or this month.

It is important to nail down the date. When my bag ran out, I might buy another one, and smoke it just as fast, convincing myself that it was also the last bag. Does this sound familiar?

I like to recommend setting your quit date, within one month of this date. It's a good idea to set your quit date just before a vacation begins, or other major event. If you attach it to another way of living change, you are much more likely to achieve success.

While marijuana has physical withdrawal pains similar to that of cigarettes, it is the mental side of the addiction but most users fight with.

Marijuana smokers have plenty of great gadgetry. You may need to give your supplies to chums, or you can would like to bin them or break them as a symbol of your resolve to quit smoking weed. Whatever you do, clean your environment so that there's no trace of marijuana or of marijuana related equipment.

Be prepared for withdrawal.

Not being prepared for marijuana withdrawal is the #1 reason that people fail to give up smoking. If you have a quit date set, you are already before the game, as you know when you'll be going through withdrawal, and you'll be prepared.

anxiousness is common in the first stages of withdrawal. For instance, you have probably been through a time when you just run out of pot and have made plans to get more but it did not work out. You are on edge and jittery till you can secure a new supply, or at least get stoned. Multiply this by ten times, you will have an idea of what the stress can be like if you are unready to give up for good.

do your analysis on what withdrawal will be like so that you can be mentally prepared to face these issues when they arise after you stop smoking weed.
