Prevention of hemorrhoids - Avoid suffering from painful butt
As most of you will quote, prevention is better than cure, so it is better to know the things that can prevent you from getting a painful and disturbing hemorrhoid. If you are one lucky enough not to have or suffer from hemorrhoids, there are things you can do to prevent them. Even if you are currently having a hemorrhoid, it is still possible to prevent the swelling and minimize the pain that you are feeling.
First of all, you have to watch what you eat. Changing your diet can help you refrain from straining during bowel movement. Eating foods with high on fiber and drinking more water is recommended. Some other foods have little fiber content and lots of fats and do not have enough roughage for the intestine to pass the stool easily. This results to straining in the toilet. In addition, avoid foods that may cause indigestion and diarrhea.
Have a regular schedule in the toilet to avoid constipation. When you feel you're going to the toilet, do not delay the process. By making it a daily habit, you will minimize the risk of dry stools which can cause constipation. When you are constipated, you may damage the anal canals walls and increased straining that contribute much to having a hemorrhoid.
Sitting and standing for a long period of time can cause pressure to the hemorrhoidal veins. When you feel you've been standing or sitting for so long, take time to change you position. When working in the office, take frequent breaks from your desk and move around.
Daily exercise is also recommended. Taking time to exercise or increasing physical activity can help prevent hemorrhoid. Staying active can reduce pressure on veins. Shedding excess weight can prevent hemorrhoids from occurring. The extra weight on your body can cause pressure on your hemorrhoidal veins. Above all, you must keep an active lifestyle cause doing so can help reduce the pressure on your veins.
Also, avoid lifting very heavy weights as they can cause pressure on the hemorrhoidal area. That pressure can make the veins in the rectal area bulge and become swollen.
Lastly, keep your anal area clean. This is the key to preventing hemorrhoids. Just avoid wiping harshly which can damage your skin. Practicing proper hygiene is the key to healthy lifestyle. Daily change of undergarments and washing the anal area regularly is recommended.
