How to Do a Candida Cleanse
Candida is yeast that lives in the digestive tract, mouth or genitals. Candid cleanse should be done yearly as many health practitioners say that Candida albicans yeast in the intestines can result in such symptoms as fatigue, mood swings, sinus congestion, depression, headache, fogginess, and even cravings for sweets and breads. Typically candid is kept in check by probiotic bacteria and the immune system. When probiotics are killed by antibiotics it results in a weakened immune system. Therefore, people with weakened immune systems such as AIDS or cancer patients are susceptible to widespread Candida.Â
One of the best ways to cleanse your body of Candida is by diet. Quite simply, you need to avoid sugar as it promotes yeast and you need to eliminate yeast products such as bread made from yeast, beer and cheese. By following these diet changes for a month you should notice changes in your symptoms.
A Candida cleanse is a multi step process. If you suspect Candida is causing your symptoms the steps in this process will help your body rid itself of this pesky yeast. Whether you suffer from Candida or not, a cleanse will be beneficial in all respects.
1. Colon Cleanse - the first step is to cleanse the colon to ensure it is healthy and well functioning. Colon cleanse products are readily available at your health food store. Colon cleansing can be done from 2-6 weeks and some alternative health providers recommend up to three months.
2. Anti fungal - secondly, it is important to take an anti-fungal supplement such as Oregano oil or grapefruit seed extract. This is what actually kills the Candida. Follow the directions on the label. Typically you will start with one capsule for a few days and then gradually increase the dosage up to 5-8 capsules a day for approximately two weeks.
3. After these initial two weeks, start taking a probiotic which you will find at your health food store.
4. Additionally, take a psyllium/ fiber shake daily, you can actually combine the oil in step 4 to this shake to make it easier.
