Home Theater Receivers Don't Have To Be Expensive
A home theatre receiver takes audio signals from various source components and decodes them to power the home theatre system. It also switches and outputs a video signal to a TV. 3D is touted as the next big thing in home theatre receivers. Onkyo, which deals in home theatre receivers, has developed a new range of AV receivers that embrace 3D technology. The Onkyo TX-SR308 Home Receiver is its new model that encompasses this latest technology.
With a 5.1 channel receiver and three HDMI 1.4 inputs, a 3-D audio return channel and playback is possible. It has a simple front layout for easy use, with standby button on the left and volume control on the right. The digital display is easy to see but faint enough that it won't distract you if you're watching a movie in a dark room. It also has jack and mic inputs, so that if you're a single user, you can easily interact with the setup.
The new model has included various options for connectivity which include: 3 HDMI inputs and one HDMI output. These are placed on the top of the receiver to ease connection. The new model also has 2 component video inputs and 4 sets of composite video inputs which target low resolution devices. Onkyo has also included a universal port for the iPod/iPhone in the Onkyo TX-SR308 Home Receiver. This is to tap into the large market which uses the devices.
The unit also supports 3-D video, which means you, the user, can utilize up to three high-definition sources, including popular components of the video like a satellite tuner, gaming console, and BluRay player. Burr-Brown DACs optimizes analog audio performance, and cleaner video and audio sound is possible because of less jitter, thanks to the DACs.
The home theatre receiver also has on-screen set up menus which appear overlaid on the video image. This feature aims to allow the viewer to adjust the home theatre settings without having to navigate back and forth on the usually blank screen background. It comes with a direct connection for front-panel audio input. This allows users of iPods or other MP3 players to connect the playback quickly to its front panel. Its Music Optimizer Technology can then enhance the quality of compressed musical files in the portable music player.
This home theatre receiver's use may be optimized by setting up a home theatre system to listen to music in multiple rooms in a home, and not only the living room. One can also listen to music from outside the house. The new system can enable its user to enjoy quality and enhanced sound, which may be pumped through in-wall speakers and ceiling speakers.
The Onkyo TX-SR308 Receiver has come with a slew of features that are set to improve the services offered by a home theatre receiver. However, with all the products that are flooding the market nowadays only time can prove whether this new home theatre can deliver its promises and whether it will have the desired effect on home entertainment.
