Swimmers ears refer to a mild infection of the ear and the ear canal and, as its name suggests, it can be provoked by excessive exposure to water. It can be successfully treated with home remedies for swimmers ears and it shouldn't be ignored because it can become severe. The most important thing when it comes to prevention and healing swimmers ears is to keep your ears dry. Make sure you do this after you swim or shower. Rubbing alcohol is believed to be one of the effective home remedies. It should be used as soon as you suspect that your ear might be infected. You can either put a few drops of rubbing alcohol in each ear or you can soak a cotton ball in it and swab the ear canal. If you choose the last option, make sure you don't rub the canal because you might harm it. Use gentle movements.

Salt can be one of the effective home remedies for swimmers ear because it can help drain the water in the ears. Put some salt in a cloth or a sock and heat it in the microwave oven. Make sure it is only warm and not hot. Then lie on one side with your ear placed over the warm pack. The salt will absorb the water in your ear.

Garlic oil is one of the most effective home remedies for swimmers ears because of its antibacterial and antifungal properties. Use garlic oil to rinse your ear canal.
