High fiber diet weight loss is a popular choice amongst healthy conscious people or dieters who want to lose weight. A diet rich of fibers has a lot of advantages and benefits for your general health. These foods are those that cannot be digested by human body, they are indigestible carbohydrates. Our body enzymes cannot break down a fiber diet. Because of these, high fiber foods pass out as stool without being digested.

Fiber is an essential dietary element in maintaining proper digestion and lowering cholesterol. Foods high in fiber contain nutrients that your body needs for strength and good health. If fiber rich foods are healthily prepared, they are low in trans fat, saturated fat and cholesterol, and can aid in weight loss and reduce the risk of heart failure, diabetes and certain types of cancer. You can also prevent signs of aging by eating high-fiber foods. Fiber supplements are not a good substitute.

Supplements are not the answer! Good health and sustained weight loss do not come in a pill. Consume high fiber foods like fresh fruits and vegetables in their natural state. Do not be confused by conflicting media reports. The simple truth is that consuming large amounts of fresh fruits and vegetables is the key to living longer and healthier.

Dieticians divide food fibers into two basic categories: soluble, which includes those fibers that can be dissolved by water; and insoluble, those that cannot. The latter contains much cellulose and is found in grain bran, vegetable peels or skins and fruit pulp. Its main diet function is to regulate bowel movement by softening or adding volume to the body waste, benefitting those with constipation or diarrhea. It also helps prevent colon cancer.

Insoluble fiber (found in wheat bran, dried beans, whole grains and seeds) is not water-soluble; it passes through the digestive tract virtually intact. During its journey through the intestines it helps to "sweep" the colon free of debris by removing toxins from the intestinal wall. It also tones the bowel muscles by creating resistance and giving them something to push against.

As we all know fiber is essential for people who are trying to shed some excess pounds. This is one of the safest ways to achieve their ideal weight fast without the worries and fears of side effects. Fruits and veggies are rich in fiber which is why dietitians and doctors advised their patients to eat 5 or more servings of these foods every day.

Foods high in fiber often require more chewing, making it less likely to eat a large number of calories in a short amount of time. While fiber is considered a carbohydrate, it does not provide the same number of calories. Therefore, you can eat larger portions of food and feel full with fewer numbers of calories.

For a long term weight loss program follow a high fiber diet. Fiber foods make you feel fuller and eliminate waste from your system. Good sources of fiber products include fruit and vegetables, whole grain products, nuts, seeds and beans. For protein include chicken, fish or lean meat. On a fiber diet plan you will eat six small meals a day. The meals are space three hours apart.
