Fighting Acne is Not Something People Enjoy
There isn't a single person out there who likes having acne. Most of us spend quite a lot of time and effort fighting against breakouts. You probably don't even want to think about all of the money you spend on facial products that are designed to give you better skin. It is disappointing for many adults to realize that they are not able to completely outgrow acne issues. Many adults fight acne for their whole lives. If you are tired of dealing with pimples and bad skin, here are some things you can try to help clear things up.
A good cleanser is key to keeping acne from causing breakouts. It should go without saying that your cleanser should not have an oily base, but that is not the only thing you need to look at when you shop for your cleanser. Does the cleanser contain salicylic acid? This is one of the most important ingredients in harsher cleansers that are meant for people whose breakouts are prolonged and severe. In a "normal" cleanser the salicylic acid is only strong enough to kill basic bacteria and to clean your pores out. As you age, however, you should cut way back on cleansers with salicylic acid...in fact, they should only be used for a spot check once in a while. Seek the help of a dermatologist. Sadly, some people suffer from acne that is so severe that "regular" acne treatments simply will not work. For people who have tried all of the over the counter facial cleansers and acne fighters and who still suffer from extensive acne, a professional's advice is often needed. A dermatologist will be able to give you prescription strength acne fighting products. Sometimes acne is caused by something else besides simple dirt and bacteria and your dermatologist will be able to tell if this is the case. Some acne issues are the result of genetics or other health conditions. Your dermatologist or physician will know how best to fight your acne and breakouts if they are being caused by something besides dirt and bacteria in your pores.
Look through your home for some natural remedies. There are a lot of people who insist that toothpaste is great for zits. An overnight spot treatment of toothpaste on a zit might cure it. Lock the pets out of the bedroom overnight so that they won't try to taste the toothpaste or lick it off of your face and in the morning your zit will be a lot smaller than it was-it might even be gone! Egg whites are also supposed to be fantastic cleansers and pimple reducers. Either make a face mask from the egg whites and leave it on over night or dab some egg white onto a pimple with a q-tip. Sometimes the best thing you can do to treat your acne is to go back to basics: keep your face clean and keep your hands away from breakouts. Other times you'll need something more powerful to help you fight acne. Thankfully, no matter how old or young you are, there are plenty of options available to help you fight your acne.
