Charlotte 49Ers Tickets Whiteout Planned For Rival Team Game

By:   |   Jul 08, 2018   |   Views: 16   |   Comments: 0
Whether you're a fan or not, you've probably heard about the whiteout scheduled for the game of the Charlotte 49ers against Xavier on February 19. This courage show of sportsmanship is to be aired on ESPN (or ESPN2) and promises to be an interested challenge on every front.

The Charlotte 49ers will be retiring #13, which belongs to Eddie Basden. Basden received the honors of being Conference USA Player of the Year as well as being All-American. Basden will be the eighth Charlotte 49ers member to receive such an honor. The #13 will be retired at halftime. The Charlotte 49ers have been on something of a winning streak recently with no small contribution from members like DiJuan Harris who managed 48% from the field and scored 79 points in the game against Dayton to help create a victory of 79-66. Maybe they can keep it up after a loss to Rhode Island a few days ago.

Those rooting for the Charlotte 49ers can keep chanting for a few more games this month and next as the Charlotte 49ers take to the court against Saint Louis on Wednesday February 11 in St. Louis Missouri, George Washington at home on Saturday February 14, Xavier at home on Thursday February 19, Richmond in Richmond Virginia on Saturday, February 21, George Washington in Washington DC on Wednesday February 25, Fordham at home on Saturday February 28, Richmond at home on Wednesday March 4 and St. Bonaventure in St. Bonaventure New York on Saturday March 7. The Atlantic 10 Championship will be held Wednesday through Saturday March 11 through the 14 in Atlantic City New Jersey.

The 2008-2009 Charlotte 49ers men's basketball roster include players freshman Javarris Barnett (00) from Charlotte North Carolina, senior Charlie Coley III (2) from Lake Worth Florida, junior DiJuan Harris (3) from Charlotte North Carolina, sophomore Gaby Ngoundjo (5) from Little Rock Arkansas, junior Ian Andersen (11) from Portland Oregon, junior Kyle Church (14) from Durham North Carolina, senior Lamont Mack (15) from Chicago Illinois, freshman Shamarr Bowden (2) from Greensboro North Carolina, sophomore An'Juan Wilderness (21) from Dunwoody Georgia, junior RaShad Coleman (22) from LaGrange Georgia, sophomore Tramaine Pride (24) from Taylortown North Carolina, junior Phil Jones (30) from Brooklyn New York, sophomore Charles Dewhurst (31) from Charlotte North Carolina and junior Shamari Spears from Salisbury North Carolina.

The Charlotte 49ers head coach Bobby Lutz has been head coach for nine years and is collaboratively responsible for taking the Charlotte 49ers to seven post-season tournaments, posting four 20-win seasons and five NCAA Tournaments. To Lutz's aid are associate head coach Rob Moxley, assistant coach Bobby Kummer, assistant coach Chris Cheeks, director of basketball operations Rob Perron and strength and conditioning coach Ryan Atcheson.

Halton Arena, also known as the James H. Barnhardt Student Activity Center is where the Charlotte 49ers play all of their home games and is a state of the art arena with virtually every amenity for both players and fans alike to enjoy.
