Acne Is Never Fun
Everybody can agree that having good skin is the goal. Personal hygiene has nothing to do with acne problems--something that a lot of people have yet to accept. Here is the truth: everyone deals with acne.
There is no single cause for acne, which is the reason that everybody gets it. While our breakouts might not be as severe when we are adults they do still happen from time to time and knowing how to prevent them and deal with them when they happen is just part of growing up! Here are some tips to help keep your skin clear and acne free.
Finding the right cleanser is your first line of defense against acne. It should go without saying that your cleanser should not have an oily base, but that is not the only thing you need to look at when you shop for your cleanser. Salicylic acid is something else you should look for. People who have to deal with really bad acne will use the salicylic acid content as their primary search criteria. In a "regular" cleanser though, the strength of the salicylic acid is just enough to zap the bacteria and clean out your pores. Unfortunately, as you get older, your skin will become more sensitive and using salicylic acid cleansers regularly will be bad so you should save them for spot treatments later on.
If you suffer from extreme acne problems, you'll want to find a cleanser that contains a high level of salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. These are stronger cleansers that are made for the express purpose of clearing up extensive acne. Do not buy these cleansers unless your acne really is severe-using them on sporadic zits and pimples could strip your skin of nutrients and make it more vulnerable to breakouts than it has ever been. If, however, you suffer from bad acne, these cleansers might just be the thing you need to start breaking down the pimples and cleaning out your pores.
Look through your home for some natural remedies. Did you know that toothpaste might be able to cure pimples? Squeeze some toothpaste onto a pimple or zit after it has formed and leave it on overnight. In the morning you will find that your pimple has shrunk quite a lot (this method is bad if you have pets who might be tempted to taste the toothpaste because doing that could make them ill). Some people insist that egg whites can also heal acne. The best way to treat acne with egg whites is to use a q-tip to dab some of your mixture directly onto your pimples, though you could also use the egg whites to make a mask. There are a lot of reasons that a person suffers from acne. Whether it is a casual pimple here and there or a more serious breakout, it is important to know that you are not suffering alone. It doesn't matter how young or old you are, every person will have to deal with acne--some just need more help with it than others. People who deal with acne have plenty of acne fighting solutions to choose from. A quick cleanser might be all you need to cure your acne. A dermatologist's help might be needed to treat your skin issues. Just keep trying and soon you'll find the solution you've been looking for!
