Washing your skin with a gentle cleanser, applying a cold compress, soaking it in warm oatmeal, applying Aloe Vera, drinking a sufficient amount of water and applying Vitamin E on red and irritated skin can help treat it.

Skin irritation can occur as a result of a number of issues. Sensitive and irritated skin are usually found on the same people. Red and inflamed skin is a normal indicator of Argan oil skin irritation, much like an allergic reaction. There are easy ways to minister to irritated skin. Actually, there are quite a number of treatments that you can use without any additional help from anyone. Here are some effective ways to treat red and irritated skin:

The possible causes of irritation should be detected and avoided

The most basic way to get rid of skin irritation is to see what caused the skin irritation and remove it. It will also protect the skin from future irritation. If you are feeling discomfort only on the skin surface, then the culprit can be any of the creams, lotions, soaps, cosmetic products etc that you may be using now. You shouldn't use these items, instead look for products that won't cause similar effects. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight for a few days if you have already been out in the sun previously, so that your skin has a chance to return to normal.

You should clean your skin and remove any traces of the substance that irritates it

Harsh cleansers and soaps can intensify irritation. You will want to use a mild cleanser to gently wash your face. Next, find a milder, gentler skin cleanser that won't irritate the skin.

Put a cold compress on it

To relieve redness, swelling and any burn sensation cold pressure is very effective. Take a towel and put an ice-pack in it, then put that on your skin and apply pressure. Alternatively, you can put cold water onto a washcloth and use that if you don't have access to an icepack.

Have a leisurely soak in a lukewarm oatmeal bath

Oatmeal has long been known to posses a soothing quality for skin. Run a bath with lukewarm water, measure two cups of the oatmeal and add it into the warm water. Be sure to use tepid water and not hot water, as the latter will only dry out and aggravate your skin condition. Soak in the warm bath for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Apply Aloe Vera gel

Aloe Vera is famous for it's skin healing properties. Natural aloe gel is recommended due to it not containing fragrances or ingredients that are artificial. Cover the suffering area with gel.

Consume adequate amounts of water

Dehydrated skin tends to become irritated. It becomes problematic to treat the skin if it is dehydrated. Drinking enough water each day helps tremendously, so drink at least 64 ounces daily.

Rub vitamin E into the surface of your skin

Vitamin E is the key to healthy skin, and it can address a wealth of skin ailments. Vitamin E products, like oils or capsules, can be rubbed right onto the skin.

Always take proper care of your skin. Proper skincare should not be limited to using appropriate skin products, but also knowing what treatments to use in case your skin becomes irritated.
