Outdoor Barstools Can Get the Party Started
If you are lucky enough to live in an area like Southern California, you may have the option of entertaining outdoors year round. Many other places in the U.S. have to wait for certain seasons to come around before they can move the party outdoors, but whether you live in California or Maine, outdoor bar stools and pub furniture helps get the party started for everyone. It's easy to be a good host for your guests if you follow simple guidelines for making everyone comfortable.
1. Get outdoor barstools or seating if you don't have it. We've all been to those parties where we had a pretty good time, but our biggest complaint was that we were standing almost the entire time. As a good host, you want to make sure your guests aren't standing the entire time, because it's harder for everyone to relax that way. An easy and inexpensive way to add seating is to get a few outdoor bar stools and tables so that everyone has a place to sit down and relax while they eat and chat.
2. Make sure you have a diverse menu. You may be entertaining guests who have food allergies, intolerances, or are just plain finicky. Because this is a universal fact about people, you will want to be the host with the most by offering many different appetizers, main courses and a couple different desserts. You don't want to have meat in everything, because you might have vegetarians, and you don't want to have cheese or dairy with all your dishes because you may have guests with lactose intolerance. Make sure to offer fresh fruits and veggies, breads or crackers, and a couple different meats and dessert choices so that even if your guests have food allergies or limitations, there is something they can enjoy eating at your party.
3. Have a Plan B. Even the most clear skies can cloud over quickly sometimes, so if you have planned a party in your background but the weather changes suddenly, do you have a plan B? You can certainly move everyone in the house, but if you think ahead you can also be prepared to keep it outside if you have a canopy or large tent on hand. Whatever you may have planned for your backyard barbecue or buffet, make sure that you have a plan B in your back pocket in case the weatherman was mistaken in his forecast!
There is nice weather for being outdoors at least part of the year no matter where you live, so make sure you throw the best parties on the block when it's your turn. Make sure you get discount bar stools or extra seating so that everyone isn't standing the entire time, offer a diverse menu of foods so that there's something for everyone, and have a plan B if the weather should turn on you and you have a lot of people still coming over. If you follow these simple steps, you'll be the most popular party host!
